Dear Akhilesh sir,

Mathura, city of Lord Krishna is known for pilgrimage, temples, education and sculpture. Krishna, lord of love & devotion resides in every particle of Brij. One who believe in Krishna wish to live with Him to feel His presence and to show one’s devotion to Him. Many of His follower Indian rulers and land lords built temples, dharmshala, education institutions in Brij region. They have given land to these temples & institution to manage these afterwards. We all know that Krishna used to offers flowers to Radha and flower which Radha like most was ‘Kadamb’ [Neolamarckia cadamba].

There were series of kadamb tree in and around Mathura and specially Mathura Kadambkhandi and Mathura - Baleo road had thousands of Kadamb trees. I can still visualize series of Kadamb tree on Mathura baldeo road (both side of road). That hundreds of old, full of flower & monkeys. Due to various reasons, road widening, expressway land acquisition and non-maintenance these trees are reducing and come to countable numbers. I urge you to order respective department & official to establish & maintain these tree-lines again and include this tree in plantation schemes for Brij region.

Holi Gate - Hardinge Arch Holi Gate is one of the main entrance to old city and one of the architectural monuments of Mathura. This gate originally named as ‘HardingeArch’. Original name:    HardingeArch In Memory of:     Mr. Bradford Hardinge When:               1875 Total Cost:         13731 Rs. City of Mathura has four principal entrances called Vrindavan Gate, Deeg Gate, Bharatpur Gate and Holi Gate. Holie gate was constructed as Agra Gate of the city. Holi darwaja is lofty and elaborately sculptured stone arch has been erected over road. It has in accordance with elegant design in local style. बणी - ठनी, हिंदुस्तान की मोनालिसा  किशन गढ़ के राजा सावंत सिंह जिन्हे बाद में नागरी दास के नाम से जाना गया की प्रेमिका बणी ठनी की समाधी ब्रज में बरसाना के समीप ऊंचागांव में है! इसी बणी ठनी के नाम पर बणी ठनी चित्रकला शैली का विकास हुआ है जो मिनिएचर आर्ट की एक खास शैली है! निहाल चंद इस शैली का पहला चित्रकार माना गया है! राजा सावंत सिंह अपने छद्म नाम नागरीदास से राधा कृष्ण की भक्ति उपासना करते थे, लिखते थे! बनी-ठनी के चित्र को उन्होने सबसे पहले अपने पसंदीदा चित्रकार निहाल चाँद के द्वारा चित्रित कराया! उस चित्र की तुलना मोनालिसा से की जाती है! कुछ इतिहासकार कहते है की राजा सावंत सिंह की पार्काल्पना थी बनी-ठनी; कुछ कहते हैं की उनकी सौतेली माँ की नौकरानी (गाने वाली) थी बनी! जिसे बनी ठनी कहा जाने लगा.. राधा कृष्ण के उपासक किशनगढ के राजा सावंत सिंह और बणी ठणी के नाम से जानी जाने वाली दासी बणी ठणी ने अंत समय ब्रज में गुजारा था। राधा नगरी बरसाना के समीप ऊंचागांव में ही बणी ठणी का देहावसान हुआ था। आज भी बणी ठणी की समाधि स्थल पर बनी छतरी किशनगढ की बणी ठणी शैली के चित्रों से सज्जित है।
